My name is Haywood Gales and I’m very proud to say that I am deputy Manager at Haystacks Nursery.
I have had a lifelong interest in education and working with young children and ever since gaining a 2:1 degree in Early Childhood Studies BA (hons) in 2014 I have worked in both private and public sector.
I continued my professional development by completing numerous short courses including Level 3 Paediatric First Aid, Level 2 Safeguarding, Managing nurseries effectively, Deaf and Deaf blind awareness and Starting out in the EYFS. I have also been provided with the opportunity to develop and carry out SEN support plans for those with additional needs.
My journey through childcare has allowed me the opportunity to see children flourish and grow which is one of the main reason why I rejoice in working with children each day.
Outside of work I enjoy reading a book, exploring new places and going on nature walks.
I am so excited to say I will be working as an apprentice with the fantastic Haystacks team!
Since starting secondary school I always knew I wanted to work with children. Watching them grow and develop is amazing and I am excited to create close bonds with all the children and be part of a great team. I am proud to say that I will be helping the children as they progress throughout their time at nursery and become better versions of themselves.
It’s a great feeling to know you are a big part of a child’s childhood and can watch them grow up into an amazing toddler and develop even further.
I have never worked in a nursery before so I am excited to learn a lot of new things and work towards my Level 3 in childcare.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy socialising with friends and going shopping!
My name is Jasmin Richardson and I am very excited about joining the Haystacks family.
My passion for working with children started when I was still in school which is why I decided to study Early Year’s at college. I opted for the apprenticeship route, allowing me to consolidate my studies through hands-on experience, sparking a deeper passion and interest in how children learn and develop.
After achieving my diploma, I was able to combine my passion for working with young children and my love for travel and work abroad in children’s holiday clubs, ensuring every child had the best holiday they could think of.
This experience gave me much more understanding of working with children from all over the world and I progressed in my career into the leadership role of Childcare Supervisor and later a Youth Activities Councillor on the Disney Cruise Liners.
These roles have given me a wealth of experience and understanding of young children and I can’t wait to carry on my journey here at Haystacks.
Hello, my name is Samantha (but most people call me Sam), and I am both excited and proud to be
joining the Haystacks family.
I have worked in childcare for 10 years, during this time my passion for working with children and watching them learn and develop has grown. I believe that children learn best from first hand experiences, having a positive impact on their learning which will result in them becoming confident and curious children. I enjoy creating a learning environment where children can learn, have fun and most importantly be happy.
I have completed my level 5 in education and care in 2017 and I have decided to continue my studies in September 2019 by completing a BA HON's level 6 in Education and Training. To further my knowledge and continue my professional development, I have also completed a level 2 safeguarding, level 2 in food safety and catering and first aid.
I have recently attended a training course called "Oh to be 2”, aimed at Leaders and Managers. Outside of work I enjoy going for long walks with my dog George and baking delicious treats.

I have a great passion for working within Early Years Education, after achieving my 'Level 3 diploma in Children's play and learning' I thrive to provide outstanding care for children, ensuring each child excels throughout their most important early years.
I have worked in early years for 4 years. I am currently enrolled on an EYFS teaching course and I have completed a few short courses including; first aid, food hygiene, safeguarding, and prevent duty.
Within my time in early years I have taken on a senior lead role, providing experiences and opportunities to build strong relationships with children and their families to support and meet children's needs.
I believe a child's early years lay the foundation for all that is to come. I am very excited to help them reach their full potential as they absorb the world around them!

Hello, my name is Sarah Lewins and I'm very excited to introduce myself as Lead Practitioner.
I have worked full time in childcare since June 2010 when I completed my Ba Hons degree in Educational studies and Early childhood studies. I also hold an Early Years Teacher qualification and have attended many courses to further my knowledge and understanding in the early years.
The outside environment is my passion and I love to see children exploring and learning in the natural environment. For me there is no such thing as inappropriate weather, just inappropriate clothing and I am excited to work with the children at Haystacks and make the most of the amazing outside environment. In June 2016 I became a Mother myself and there is nothing I love more than going for walks with my little girl and jumping in muddy puddles.
Hello, My name is Reanna Gamble and I am very excited to say I am joining the haystacks family!
My passion for childcare stemmed from teaching dancing to children from a young age. Watching children grow, learn and develop through dance led me to do a degree at Teesside University in Early Childhood Studies.
Once I completed my degree i began working and discovered I am extremely passionate about working with children who have special educational needs. For the last three years whilst working in childcare I have strengthened my knowledge of this through being a SENCO and participating in different courses.
There is nothing I love more than seeing children explore their environment and learning through play. I believe each day we spend with children, we are depositing memories into the banks of our children’s minds, so I strive to make every day unforgettable!
Hello, my name is Abigail Marsh and I am extremely proud to say I will be joining the Haystacks family.
My passion for Early years began when I completed my Early childhood studies degree. I was fascinated by the theories surrounding children’s development and the way children learn. I am also a qualified teacher and hold a PGCE degree.
I am so excited to be a part of this exciting adventure in which the children are able to explore, learn and let their imaginations soar in a nurturing and safe environment created by the Haystacks family.
In 2015 I was blessed with my own little boy and in my spare time I love nothing
My name is Patricia Lathan (Tricia) and I’m excited by the opportunity to join the Haystacks Nursery Family.
I have been within Early Years Education in one form or another for over 40 years. I first obtained my NNEB qualification at Stockton/Billingham College. Over the years I’ve added to my education with numerous courses in maths, science, drama, nature exploration, literacy, diversity, and special needs.
I also hold a PECs Level 1 qualification; a picture communication system to assist persons with communication difficulties. A great number of the 40 years of experience were spent within Early Years settings in Washington DC, USA. Since returning to the UK, I have worked Early Years Outreach supporting children with SEND in school environments.
I am passionate about keeping the pre-school experience hands on and meaningful, while also keeping the curriculum and environment fresh and challenging. I strongly believe children succeed best when engaged in learning environments that are child centred and adaptable. Outside of work I enjoy photography, exploring local history, and walking the family dogs.
I also volunteer with a local cricket club as their Tea Lady, photographer and Committee Member.
Hi I'm Lauren Jackson and I am so excited to be joining the Haystacks family!
My 6 years experience in Early Years Education has given me opportunity to support children in their most important early years of their lives, ensuring their needs are met and providing fantastic opportunities which support their development!
I have recently graduated from Teesside University with a level 5 Foundation Degree in Early Years, this has provided me with knowledge of a range of international approaches, including Forest Schools and Scandinavian approaches which supports the ethos of Haystacks.
In my spare time I love exploring local play groups with my 10 month old baby boy! We particularly enjoy sensory and messy play, creating, investigating and exploring!
My name is Paula Egglestone and I am extremely excited to be joining the haystacks family.
My passion is creating healthy nutritious food, which children can enjoy.
I have completed several courses including food hygiene.
I have a love for cooking and I will be introducing different types of food to the nursery children, so that they get an early experience of trying and appreciating healthy food and also healthy eating habits.
I am also looking forward to growing vegetables and fruit on site at the nursery, which the children will also be involved in, that can then be used in the kitchen, and having our very own herb garden.
I have two children, one is 14 and the other is 3 years old who also share a passion for food. My 3 year old constantly wants to cook with me and enjoys learning how to make different meals.
I am a very focused, determined and positive person. In my own time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, exploring outdoor experiences, going on walks, camping and trips to the park.
